Early Christmas Suprise

So now that things have calmed down and I can think straight, I'll tell you about my night on Wednesday....
I was working late with two loan officers getting things done and ready for the next day.
We all felt like our day was very successful.
We got a TON done!
I almost had nothing to do the next day we got so much done.
And I was the only processer here that day.
So I was doing double the work.
Anyways...6 o'clock rolled around and we decided that we had got plenty of work done and decided to leave.
On my drive home I was thinking about what we had to do that night.

- I had to take my ring in to get it checked for the warranty
- We had to run to Heslops to take them their birthday invite
- Start getting things ready for Lyle's birthday

I talked to Dee and was about 5 miles away from home.
I was jammin to Christmas music when Dee called....

Me: (jokingly) "you threw off my groove"
Dee: (with panic in his voice) "You need to get home. NOW!"

........

my heart really sunk because I thought something had happened to Lyle.

Dee: "we have 2 puppies!"

O.M.G.

I was in almost a panic because I had no idea what do to!
Any Mya was outside in the freezing cold with these two puppied.

Let me back up a little bit.
The last week of November, I noticed Mya's nipples were getting bigger.
But nothing like I've seen on other pregnant dogs.
And she started looking like she was eating to much food.
But nothing to say that she had something growing in her tummy.
We had an appointment for her on Monday (the 9th) to find out what was going on.

When Dee got home that day, Mya had pooped all over in our garage so he let her outside.
He was inside with Lyle when he heard something that sounded like a cat.
He thought that Mya had cought our neighbors cat, which wouldn't surprise me.
He went out and she was in the old dog house that was left from the previous owners with two puppies.
That's when he called me freaking out.
I got home, ran inside, said "Hi" to Dee and Lyle and ran outside to see my first baby.
She looked at me with panic in her eyes and I could tell what she was thinking
"I don't know what's going on and my babies are freezing"
I immediately ran inside and got towels and blankets to try to help but what we really needed to do was get her and the puppies inside the house.
I ran back inside to get a box and when I came out she had a third puppy.
I was able to get two of the puppies and then Mya was really freaking out because her 3rd puppy was whining and freezing.
She almost sat on it with it in-between her legs trying to get her warm.
I had Dee come out and call her to get her in the house.
Thank Heavens that worked.
I was able to grab the 3rd puppy and get all 4 of them inside the warm house.
We grabbed some old camping blankets and made Mya and the puppies and nice bed.
We got her calmed down and had Grandma Sharon come get Lyle so we could help Mya without worrying about Lyle.

After they left, Dee and I watched the most amazing thing ever.
We got to see the 4th puppy born.
And I totally wish that it was that easy for us to have babies!
I could see her tummy contracting.
She kinda layed back on her side
and out popped this puppy still in the sack.
She immediately bit the sack off and proceeded to eat it.
I looked at Dee amazed and also a little sick to my tummy.
She bit the umbelical cord off and ate that too.
After everything was eaten, she started licking the puppy clean.
It was the most amazing thing ever!
She knew exactly what to do.
I was so proud of her.

We made sure all of them latched on and then we finally breathed.
My heart calmed down and I could relax.
She had 1 boy and 3 girls.
Right now they are all Mya's color, a lighter brown with darker closer to the skin.

We still have to find out who the father was.
We have a few labs on our street and I'm hoping it was one of them.
But I have seen a HUGE malemute by our fence once during the summer.
I really don't care who the father is.
I'm glad that my baby is doing great and that each puppy is healthy and growing.
I love watching Mya be a mom to those puppies.
She always has to know where they are.

Pictures to come soon! :)

Also we just had Lyle's 1st birthday and it was a blast!
I'll get pictures up of that soon too!

Dog Sitting

Last week I was nice enough to watch two of my sisters dogs while they went to party it up in Cali with their families.
Let's just say I can cross the "dog watching business" off my list.
One outside dog is enough for me.
But let me tell you about how the week ended.
Ginger came and picked up her dog Friday morning leaving Max there by himself.
Around 3:30 Dee called me

Me: Hey Babe! How was work?!
Dee: You didn't get the picture yet did you....

I open my phone and download the picture.

"YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!"

This is what I saw

I showed my co-workers who started laughing

Dee was soo mad.
I told him that we were going to replace them anyways and I guess we should do it now.
He still wasn't happy.
He started to calm down when he heard one of my co-workers laughing so hard that she snorted.
Thank you Linda!
After he got off the phone with me he walked in and Max had pooped 3 times and peed twice in the house.
It was an awesome day for Dee.

After he cleaned evertying up he called me again

"Did you get my picture?"

HAHAHAHAHA

This was the next picture that I saw

Dee said that he was so scared he didn't dare move.
All of us at the office were laughing histarically at this.
And of course I sent both pictures to my sister.
And shared them with my other sisters who had a good laugh out of it.
Max does have a record of destroying curtains.
Which, the first day we left the dogs out of their kennels they didn't have any issues with ruining anything.
I think he got bored on Friday because the other dog was gone and decided to take it out on my curtains.
He has also destroyed the curtains in my sisters trailer and they had to be replaced.
Now he has ruined mine.
It was a good laugh and a good kick in the butt to get my curtains done.

(No we did not give the dog away. It was a joke)

Happy Tuesday!

Family Photos

I finally got my braces off!
Woohoo!

And a week before I made sure to talk to my sister about getting pictures done the weekend after.
It was raining all morning and I was nervous that the weather wouldn't clear up and we wouldn't be able to.
I have been waiting for 9 months to take family pictures and not have metal protruding from my mouth.
I called my sister-in-law and asked her if she would curl my hair and prayed that the skies would clear up.
We went to the bird refuge in west Layton and everything was perfect!
We had so much fun!
And I even ran into an old co-worker taking their family pictures.
Anyways, pictures are so much better than words.

ENJOY

There is no greater gift than being a Mom.
I love being a Mom to this little boy.
He is my joy and my life!
I can't image my life any other way.
It's so much fun to watch him grow and explore.
He is now standing for a few seconds without holding onto anything and I'm so excited and yet heart broken because my baby is growing up.
I'm so excited for the adventures that we are having and are going to have.
There is nothing better than being a Mommy.

Stay Tuned

Mandee took our family pictures on Sunday and they have turned out AMAZING!
Once I receive all of them, I'll let you guys take a look :)
My Little Man is just too cute not to share. ;)

Being a Mom

I love being a Mom.
More than ANYTHING!
I get to take care of this sweet boy and watch him learn and grow.
I couldn't have asked for a better job.
Little Man's new thing he does is he doesn't like to fall asleep laying in your arms.
He likes to rest his head on your shoulder.
I love it!
Last night I was feeding him and he fell asleep.
I layed him over my shoulder and patted his back while he slept.
As I was listening to his steady breathing, and occasional burp, I was thinking that life was perfect.
Even with all the chaos going on.
I have a loving hubby who helps out where-ever I need him.
I have a sweet, happy baby boy who loves to smile, laugh and cuddle.
I even love getting up in the middle of the night to comfort Little Man.
It makes me feel so good knowing that my baby wants me to hold him.
I'll pick him up out of his crib and he instantly finds that comfy place in the crook of my neck and will fall back asleep.
So does he really have a tummy ache or is he just wanting to be snuggled...? ;)
Who cares.
I'll take it as long as I can!
Eventually they grow up and don't want to snuggle Mommy anymore.

I really can't put into words the love I have for my little family.
I would not go back and change life for anything in the world!
I'll have to post some videos of my sweet Little Man because he is so stinkin cute!
If I do say so myself! ;)

We bought Little Man a sippy cup this weekend and it's been fun watching him trying to figure it out.
I would hold it by him and he would put his arms out and open his mouth like a little bird and his eyes would get really big.
It was soo funny!
He would close his mouth and look at me like, "Come on Mom!" and then open his mouth again.
He did this a few times and I finally put it done on him so he would have to pick it up.
He's starting to figure it out and got it in his mouth a few times.
But he didn't like the taste of the water.
Eventually he just gave up and would hold onto the cup and hit whatever he could with it.
He's so funny!

He's getting closer and closer to crawling too!
He will get up on all 4s and rock back and forth!
He does this more and more!
I'm sure he'll be crawling within the next few weeks.
I should probably start baby proofing my house now.

I love my blue eyed boy

This is how he usually sleeps.

"What you talkin 'bout? It fits perfectly!"

Happy Monday Everyeone!

7 Months

I know I've been slacking...and I think I say this a lot.
But having a full-time job, taking care of Little Man, Dee, a house and a yard takes a lot of time.
Anyways, Little Man is 7 months!
Well, he turned 7 months on the 9th.
But it has gone by so quick!!!
He moves all over the place and he's quick too!
I'm affraid for when he starts crawling and walking.
Maybe I shouldn't have ran so much while I was pregnant.
I think it wore off onto him. ;)
I am actually so excited for him to be running around and for me to chase him.
There is going to be a lot of laughing in house.
There already is but there is going to be more for sure! :)
He loves loves LOVES his food!
He acts like a little bird when I get his cereal out.
He'll look at me with his mouth open and starts going "ah..ah" until I get the spoon in his mouth.
And then he'll do it again.
He so far has had rice cereal, oatmeal, sweet potatoes, carrots, squash, green beans and applesauce.
I won't have a picky eater on my hands. Thats for sure!
He has started sleeping with his little butt in the air.
It is the cutest thing ever!
But sometimes it makes me nervous beacuse I'll walk into his room and see his little butt in the air, but his face is smothered in the mattress....
I'll have to turn his head so he can breath.
He's done that a few times and I think he's got it figured out now but man!
That kid sure does make me nervous sometimes.
He is loving daycare and all the girls love him!
I'll walk in the door and from around the corner I can hear a little girl saying "wyle? wyle? wyle?"
I think she's the same little girl that likes to steal his socks...
So we don't wear them as much anymore ;)
There are three little girls that are 3, 4 and 5 and they are the sweetest little girls ever.
Everytime I walk through the door they will compliment me on something that I am wearing.
They have even gone as far to say they like my teeth!
It's probably because I have these weird things on them and they feel bad for me.
Luckily I only have a few weeks left with them! woot woot!
So far this summer, Lyle has been on a boat.
Stuck his feet in the freezing Bear Lake
Been camping at Payson Lakes
Was pushed in his first 5K.
We were going for first stroller instead of 1st runner to finish. ;)
ummm...oh!
and next weekend he will go to Lava Hot Springs for the first time!
No he won't go down the river.
But we might go sit in one of the natural hot pots along the river.
He does so good camping!
He sleeps between Dev and I and will even go to sleep without us in the tent.
I love my Little Man so much!
He's so much fun!
Tomorrow is Friday and we get to go play with some awesome friends!
Lyle and Izzy were born on the same day!
I'm excited to see them play together!

Happy Thursday!!

Payson Lake

We went camping at Payson Lake this weekend.
It was so much fun!
And Little Man did FANTASTIC!!
We have this awesome tent that goes in the back of a truck.
and it has an air matress that it made for a truck so it goes around the wheels.
I mostly love it because it is off the ground and I don't have to worry about bugs getting into our tent.
there's a less chance anyways...
We got up around 9:30 on Friday and talked for a little bit with the fam and then went to bed.
Lyle slept in between us and then when he woke up to eat I switched him places.
It was mostly because I was being lazy and didn't want to sit up to feed him.
It was nice :)
I made sure he was warm and I loved snuggling him.
We were the first ones up on Saturday.
We were probably up around 6:30 is my guess.
We laying in the tent and played with Little Man for awhile before we got out and stood around looking at each other like we were statues. ;)
I really, really, REALLY wanted to go around camp singing and waking everyone up!
it was so tempting because it was soo quiet!
But I held back and waiting until people woke up on there own.
We tried sweet potatoes for this first time on Saturday and he LOVED them!
of course he loved them!
He loves anything he can put into his mouth! ;)
He is now eating something "solid" with breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The only time I don't feed him any extra is his last feeding before I put him to bed.
Anyways...We went to the lake and watched the boys fish.
And then I took Little Man on the paddle boat.
It was so much fun and he fell asleep.
When we got back to shore Dee took Little Mane and let him sleep on his lap.
He was still in his life jacket and looked so cute/funny the way he was sleeping.
Mandee and Ginger went and jumped in the middle of the lake and was swimming with the kids.
The next thing I hear is "Come on Bobby! Come swim with us!"
Of course when my nieces and nephews are calling me to do something, it is really hard to say no....
I got my life jacket on...and slowly walked to my Dad in the row boat.

Let me tell you a little bit about me...
I have a fear of water and the unknown....
seriously...
something is going to come up from the botton and grab my legs and drag me under to my death...
or something will bite my feet off....
or there is something under the water swimming around staring at me waiting until the perfect time to plan it's attack.
I seriously am affraid of water.
I've been snorkling twice and have a love/hate relationship for it.

Anyways...
my Dad rowed me out to the middle where they were swimming.
I slowly made my way to sit on the back of the boat.
And then I just sat there....
I seriously was so scared.
But I couldn't let my niece see because then she would freak out too even though she was already in the water.
Well...after a little bit I lost my balace and fell in.
I had to keep talking to Mandee about other things to keep my mind pre-occupied.
While we were swimming, Little Man woke up and decided he wanted to give Daddy a present..hehehehe(evil laugh)
I hear my name coming from shore.
Ginger was yelling "He pooped all over Devin!"
What was I suppose to do??
I'm in the middle of the lake!
So I yelled back, "His Dad can take care of him!"
It was so funny!
I could tell that Dee was upset that I didn't swim into shore by the way he was walking back to camp.
oh well :)
We swam around for a little longer until the wind picked up...
It got a little cold.
We all swam back in then headed back to the campsite to warm up.
Of course, once we got warmed up, it got HOT!
We wanted to jump back in the lake it was so hot!

When the boys got back from fishing, we made dinner.
We were in charge of our own dinners Saturday night because not everyone was going to be there.
We made yummy chicken hobo dinners.
They were better than what everyone else had for dinner!
(I can't remember what they had because I was still cutting mine up while they were eating. I think they heated leftovers up)
Matt did make cherry chocolate cobler though!
oh man!!
Can Matt dutch oven!!!
He always make delicious dutch oven cobler!

Lyle slept great that night!
He woke up twice for a few minutes to eat and then went back to bed.
I think he slept in until 7:30ish because I felt like I got a ton of sleep.
We made breakfast, packed up, and left.
It was so much fun to spend the weekend not caring about anything at home.
I needed the break from the crazyness. :)

Happy Hump Day!
(since we get Thursday off)

Swoobs, Swass but Kinda Fast

12 people, 2 vans, 200(ish) miles...
The Ragnar was sooo much fun!!
I'm actually kinda bumbed that it's over.
I'm a running addict and could keep going.
And it was fun to be with my family + Jason in van 1.
We had so much fun!
If you aren't sure what the Ragnar is (also known as Wasatch Back) go here.
Since we were sleep deprived, we laughed way to much!
We all slept at Matt and Mandee's house on Thursday night because we got  up at 3 to head up to Logan.
April was so funny on the drive up.
You could tell that she didn't get much sleep.
Mandee started us off at 5:30.
It was so fun to see all the different vans decorated and the funny sayings as we waiting for Mandee.
These were the legs that I ran:

The hardest run was leg 15 because it was sooo hot!!!
I thought the finish would never come!
My funnest run was leg 27 up the back of Jordanelle!
Those hills were soo much fun!
And I felt AMAZING afterwards!
As I was coming to the exchange to pass the slap bracelet to April, I did a heal click.
Everyone couldn't believe that I did it because it's the last run for runner 3 and usually everyone is tired.
Not me!
I did make an impression with my awesome heal click too!
At the next exchange when we were watching April come it to pass off to Matt, I heard someone say,

"I thought about doing a heal click like that chick at the last exchange but I was too tired"

YAY!!
"that chick" was me!!
It made me feel good!
Because you are sleep deprived, you need to do things to keep it entertaining.
When I was running and saw my van, I would flex my mucles or shimmy and man can I shimmy right now! ;)
You have to make it fun or it is a waste of $100+ bucks!
The finish was packed but so much fun to see all the rest of the teams together.
Plus we got free pizza!
That was the best pizza I have ever tasted!
While we were running we ate mostly snack foods like gold fish, pretzels, trail mix...
stuff like that.
So that pizza tasted almost like heaven.
I can't wait until next year to run it again!
I think my new goal is to run all the Ragnar's.
The Miami one looks so fun because you finish and they jump on a cruise ship!
They call it the Ragnar Vacation!
Doesn't that sound amazing?
I think so! :)

Sister Hoellein

My little sister has been on her LDS mission for two weeks now!
and I am definitely feeling the withdrawals.... ;)
I don't have my crazy sister that I can go shopping with and instead of buying clothes, we goof off, laugh and talk in crazy accents.
I think that's what we do most is laugh.
Saturday I hung out with April and she saw the crazy side of me.
It was pretty funny.
I think it might be that time that I share my craziness with them anyways. ;)
She sent us a letter and is having a blast!
She can't believe how green everything is!
And she hasn't felt the humidity yet...
She's been warned by so many members though.
Her and her companion, Sister Wagner have been sent to Nashua New Hampshire and they are the first two sister missionaries in the area!
This is what she said:

"We went to the early morning seminary class and being the first Sister missionaries in the area the young women would walk in, see us, drop their jaws on the floor and then run up to us and squual about their being sister missionaries now. then they would leave and come back with more young women  who would do the same thing all over again! It was absolutely AWESOME!!!"

I don't think I know one person who doesn't love Tara and can see all the young women out there falling in love with her sweet, hopefully not so sassy, personality.
Maybe the sassy part is just with me...oh well. :)

She also had a crazy experience with Satan.
When I read this, my protective side started to come out.
And it started playing out in my head like a scary movie.
I've had my own experiences and can testify that Satan is real.
I hope you don't have to have these types of experiences but it happens.

"Ok scary experience.... Satan is totally real. I didn't know how real until the other night and after talking with Sister Wagner and almost crying, well I did cry, I am getting a blessing from the Elders. So I went to bed and was just laying there and then felt like someone was grabbing my arms and it was weird. I brushed it off as my muscles just being tired and turned onto my back and tried to fall asleep again. I then felt 'someon's'  messaging my arms and then was grabbed/pushed down while I was just laying there. I remember yelling in my ind "Satan get out! Satan get away!" and then I was able to fall asleep. It was terrifying after I actually talked about it with Sister Wagner and I didn't want to sleep. She reminded me that I have the power to send him out by acting in Jesus Christs name and we had a really nice talk about it all in the car. So that night we prayed, I cried and before I went to sleep I commanded Satan in the name of Jesus Christ to GET OUT!!! I slept amazingly and am very grateful for prayer, Sister Wagner, Faith, Jesus Christ and the Priesthood. This gospel is amazing and I'm excited to continue the work!!!"

Doesn't that first part just send chills down your back???
They do mine!
Dee wasn't home when I read it and it didn't make me feel that comfortable in my house.
But once he walked through that door with the Priesthood, that feeling left.
I am so grateful for the Power of Priesthood.
It has helped me with so much throughout my life!

I am so proud of my sister that she has made this decision!
This is going to be a fun experience for both of us!

If you have questions about an LDS mission go here.
It an amazing decision that the youth make!

Have a good Tuesday!

MIA

I know I've been MIA for that last month..and a half...
But I started my new job and am loving the job!
I still miss my baby and wish I was at home with him but he is in good hands.
We found a GREAT daycare!
It is a husband and wife and they run it out of the basement of their house.
Little Man loves them to.
When we get there in the mornings and I'm getting him out of his car seat, he tries to sit up to see the other kids or Mr. Shane.
And when he does see Mr. Shane, he gets the biggest smile on his face and gets so excited!
I love it!
They send me an email during lunch to let me know how he is doing and at the end of the day have a "report" for me.
How much and when he ate, how long and when he slept, how many dirty diaper...etc.
It makes a HUGE different having a good daycare.

Lyle is almost 6 months old!
He will be on Sunday and I cannot believe it!
It has gone by so fast and he is changing everyday!
I'll give you the full report on Sunday when I do my picture :)

I ran tha Ogden Half marathon again last month.
It was a BLAST!
But...it poured the entire time!
And, I beat my last year time by half an hour!
I was so proud of myself.
But I also wasn't 3 month pregnant this time.
Mandee and I are working towards doing a full marathon.
It will be fun to say that I did it but I've got to work up my mind to do that many miles.
In two weeks Dee and I are running the Ragnar (or Wasatch Back) and am so excited!
This will be Dee's first race and he is pretty excited too.

Work is going great and I am loving being busy doing loans.
And the people I work with are HILARIOUS!
We have the most random conversations.
The only downfall with working my mind this hard, when I have to think of something I can't because my mind is fried.
I'm working on it though. ;)

I'm still running and working out but will have to put the "Wednesday Workouts" on hold, like they have been, until I get this working Mother thing down.
I'm still trying to find the groove with working, doing yard work, house work, etc.
Happy Friday Everyone!

Wednesdays workout

yeah yeah...I know...at least I got my butt in gear this week.
last week was my first week back to work and at a new job.
it was a very emotional week last week.
things are getting better.
I don't think it helped either that my sister was sending me pictures of little man while I was at work....
anyways, I did go running.
and outside!!!!
it felt amazing!
and, my hubby and baby came this time too!
my amazing sister(one of them anyways) gave us a jogger!
I didn't map it out before but I want to say it was about 2 to 2 1/2 miles.
up and downhill.
I'm running the Ogden half in a month and most of it is downhill.
you would think downhill would be easy...
running downhill uses different muscles.
I didn't train that well last year when I ran it, and I was 3 months pregnant, but I was hurting at about mile 6.
by the end I wanted to cry the back of my legs hurt so bad.
make sure you train for what type of terrain you are running.
I am also going to do my situps and pushups tonight before I go to bed.
I would do them right now but I'm making delicious New York steaks and steamed carrots with the hubby. :) enjoy your workouts and remember, your mind will talk you out of anything.
you can breath just fine.
your legs don't hurt.
just do it!

Tough Times...

I know I promised two workouts this week but it's been tough for me.
Remember this my post about "Working Mother?"
well....Here's the phone conversation.
Last Thursday I got this call from the amazing Jenny Dee:

Jenny: Is this Aubry?
Me: yes
Jenny: This is Jenny. How are you?
Me: *skeptical* good
Jenny: Great! Well, I just wanted to talk to you about the Mortgage Loan Processor position. We really love your personality, smile and spunk....(this is where I was expecting the BUT) and we'd like to offer you the position.
Me: .....

I honestly didn't know what to say.
I was up against someone who already has loan processing experience so I was prepared for the rejection call.
And I was ok with that.
There was another part time position that I could apply for.
Work mornings and have the rest of the day with my baby boy.
But that isn't how it turned out.
I was excited!
Really I was.
There isn't a job that I have interviewed for that I haven't gotten the position.
But then I hung up the phone and looked down at my baby boy in his swing smiling at his Mommy....
....and cried....
I knew what I was giving up but hoping it wouldn't come to this...
I knew what I was going to miss...
This is the hardest decision that I have ever made.
My dream since I was little was to be a stay-at-home Mom.
That was suppose to be my full-time job.
After thinking about my life and my plans, nothing that I have planned has ever worked out.
And I can add this to the list of things.
But there is a reason that I went back to work.
And Heavenly Father knows what is going to happen down the road and I'm suppose to have this job.
But it's so hard knowing that someone else is taking care of my baby.
Playing with my baby.
Seeing all the laughs and smiles
and all the firsts....
Monday was good because I was so busy learning everything.
It went all down hill from there.
My sister came and picked up Little Man and my other sister(who was watching him) and took them to play.
She kept sending me pictures while I was at work.
The only thing that I could think of was "I'm suppose to be there with my baby. I don't want to miss a thing"
I wish I could rewind and stop on my last day with Lyle and keep rewinding that day so it would never end.
I don't get home until 5:30 - 6 and by that time Lyle is fussy, tired, and hungry.
I do get some smiles but they don't last that long.
And depending on how he slept throughout the day, depends on if I get the laughs from him.
I know I get Saturdays and Sundays to be with him all day, but that just isn't enough for me.
This is seriously the hardest thing I've had to do so far in my life.
I wish I could play with him on the floor and watch him as he figures out how to roll around.
How he inspects his toys to find the best "chewing" spot.
Our dancing and singing around the kitchen to Children's Jack Johnson.
I just miss being with him all day.
I love my job and work with amazing people, but if I could I would stay at home forever.
If you are a stay-at-home Mom, don't take it for granted.
It is the best thing you will ever do.
And if you have to go back to work, I feel your pain.
If you choose to go back to work, props to ya!
I have sisters that chose to go back to work because they'd rather be there than at home with their brains oozing out of their heads.
And they are still great Mothers.
I will be OK at one point but right now it's pretty hard.

and to add on top of it...Dee has been working two jobs and so sometimes I don't even see him.
That is really hard especially since these past few days all I've wanted to do is cry.
He gets up at 5:30 kisses me goodbye at 6, sometimes comes home to grab some food, comes home around 10:30 and I'm already asleep.
I know this isn't going to be a long term thing but I need my best friend right now.
I cherish every moment I have with my boys because it isn't that long during the week.
Or tomorrow since Dee with be working in Draper all day....
sheesh...
But I have my time with Lyle for two days and no one can take that away from me!

Love and cherish your family. I know I do!

Wednesday's Workout

Today has been a little crazy.
I instantly became a Mother of three!
I'm helping out my sister and brother-in-law while my sister is in Texas for a conference.
It's their spring break so we are playing for the next three days.
Anyways, I haven't done any cardio yet but plan on going on at least a walk today when Little Man wakes up.
I have done those amazing squats that everybody loves so much.
Just to feel that burn in my muscles is amazing.
And try doing them with two kids jumping up on you!
It's even more fun! ;)
I didn't do regular squats though
I had my legs spread about two feet apart.
When you do a squat you want to make sure that your knees don't go over your toes.
It helps if you stick your butt out.
If you feel the burn and also feel like a dork you are doing them right.
I also decided to do walking lunges since I have been chasing kids all day.
They are great because it requires you to move while you are doing them.
Again, make sure when you are going down into the lunge that your knee doesn't go over your toes.
If you wanted to add a little more to your walking lunge, lift your back leg up as you are standing up out of the lunge.
After you life up your back leg, bring it forward for your next lunge.
Do these all day as you are walking around the house and you will definitely feel it tomorrow in your back side. ;)
I think I am going to add my sit ups and pushups after my walk later too.
Get an all over workout.
Plus I was dead after last weeks workout and I need that especially if I am going to a desk job.
I need something to keep me in shape ;)
and I have a 1/2 marathon coming up plus the ragnar!
Woohoo!
I'm really excited for both and will start posting more about my runs hopefully next week.
My nephew needs money for the summer so I think I'll have him come watch Little Man at night and I'll hit the gym or go for a run around my neighborhood.

You are the only one that can make excuses for yourself.
It isn't anybody else' fault but yours.
Don't make excuses. Make improvements.
Happy Wednesday!

Working Mom?

Don't worry, I will still do my Wednesday's Workout.
I just have some stuff that I have to get out of my head and hopefully typing about it will get it out of my mind so I don't have to think about it.
I just got a call for a job interview.
I am having mixed feelings about it.
I was excited that I got the call for the interview just like I would be for any job I applied for.
But then I got off the phone and looked down at the sweet angel that was laying on my chest and a piece of my heart broke.
If I went back to work I would miss out on a lot of "firsts".
Even though I would still get to see them when I got home from work, most of his awake time I would be gone...
It's a full time position from 9 - 6.
And after I picked him up from daycare, I would only get about 1 1/2 to 2 hours of awake time.
It really is breaking my heart.
And even though this isn't a long term thing, only a year to 2 years, it's hard.
I love spending the day with my Little Man and watch him grow and learn about new things going on in this crazy world.
On the plus side, if I get this job, I will be able to finish my house, buy Little Man whatever I want, go on dates with my lover and vacations.
There are so many benefits of working.
So much more than not working.
But the parts that I will be missing are the most important...
To me they are anyways.
I have always wanted to be a stay at home Mom but things just aren't working out in my favor right now.
I have had any crying spells and know that I will have more.
(I swear I cry more after I had Lyle than before or during pregnancy)
I just have to realize that this is the thing I need to do right now.
I have prayed and prayed to be guided to where I need to be and what I needed to do.
And I knew that It would potentially be something that I didn't necessarily want to do at this time but it would be something that I needed to do to help out my family.
Everything that I am doing is for my sweet baby boy.
I know that everything will work out.
I just have to get past everything that I will miss and remember that it's all for him.
And to take less stress off Dee.
Right now I'll enjoy these sweet boys gummy smiles and contagious giggles!

Report

oh man am I sore!
This morning when I rolled over to get Little Man out of his bed my abs let me know they were there.
And then I went to pick him up and my arms said, "we're here too"
my legs didn't want to get out of bed.
and I was still tired from my late night so I wasn't complaining. ;)
but I had a baby boy that wanted to play.
sometimes the "old" workouts work the best.
nothing too fancy.
happy Friday everyone!! :)

Thriving Thursday!

that's the best that I could come up with off the to of my head ;)
and bare with me, I am doing this on my phone so it won't turn out how the rest of the posts turn out.
Today I ran 4 miles!!
well, I ran about 3.5 and walked about half a mile throughout my entire run.
it.felt.AMAZING!
I decided to take it back to originals.
nothing to fancy
after I ran I took about a five minute break to lower my heart rate and to stretch.
don't forget to stretch!!
no matter what workout you are doing.
after my five minute break I did sit ups.
I like to put my feet in the air and reach up to my toes.
I do 4 sets of 25 with a 30 diving break in between each set.
remember to breath.
after sit ups, I went straight to pushups.
nothing fancy.
I do 10 pushups with a 30 second break in between.
with pushups I go until I cant complete a set.
but I push through as hard as I can.
again, DON'T FORGET TO STRETCH.
it does so much for your muscles if you stretch.
and it also helps keep your flexibility!
also don't forget to drink water.
you are losing so much as you sweat and you need to replace that.
have a good week!
take 5 minutes out of your day to do something active!

Workout Follow-Up

I know it's Friday and not Thursday, but yesterday I was dealing with house work and a baby with an upset tummy.
So most of my day was spent cleaning and making my baby happy.
But, my toosh was sore yesterday and is still sore today from Wednesday's Workout.
I know I'm weird but right now it's the "feel good" sore.
Not "Oh my gosh I can't walk" sore. :)
I'm excited for next weeks workout.
We'll take a break from glutes and do some arms, maybe abs, maybe both! :)
Have a GREAT weekend!!
and don't forget to take 5 - 10 minutes out of your busy life to do something active!

Wednesday's Workout

Hey Everyone!
This week has been pretty crazy!
And because of the stinkin weather we have been stuck inside this week.
But I haven't forgotten about the Wednesday's Workout!
So the first workout that I'd love to share with you is...
Well...I'm sure there is a name for it but I don't quite know what it's called...
I've been doing it for awhile and love what it does.
I guess it's a leg lift but standing up.
You can hold onto a chair, one leg planted on the ground, lift the other leg as high as you want and take it back down next to your planted foot but don't put it down.
I usually lift my leg to a 45 degree angle.
I do one set of 60 lifts then switch legs.
I do 2 sets each foot.
If you have good balance, you can do these without holding onto anything.
And you can really do them anywhere.
I do them whenever I brush my teeth, do the dishes, etc.
They really don't take much from you to do.
And they work the outside of your glutes.
After the second set you will feet it.
I'm working on getting my camera fixed so you'll have to take the phone pictures for a little bit.

The second workout I chose also works your glutes and hips.
It's called the Swinger.
  • Start on ground on all fours; for extra counterbalancing support, prop left hand up on fingertips and bend left elbow slightly.
  • Extend right leg behind you at hip level, toes pointed; then, keeping hips still, bring it directly out to side.
  • Hold for 1 count; return to start.
  • Do 8 reps. Switch sides and repeat. Do 2 sets.
This one is a new favorite.
These two workouts are so easy to do and don't take much time to do them.
Maybe...5 minutes?
You could even add last weeks workouts to these two and have an awesome lower workout!
We are going to get those tooshies ready for summer and swim suits!

Report on last week:
On Thursday, my inner thighs felts amazing!
I love the feeling of being sore.
My arms were sore and I could really feel it when I went to lift my baby above my head.
I could only hold him for a few seconds before my arms started to shake a little.
I'm hoping to do my reports on Thursday but something came up last week.

Take 5 minutes to do these two workouts.
You will not regret doing them :)

I love this!
Walk, run, crawl...Anything!
And this doesn't have to specifically be about running/walking!
It could be about anything that you are trying to do.
Slow is better than nothing.

Happy Wednesday!

Wednesday's Workout!

Here is my first Wednesday Workout's post!
Bare with me as I figure out exactly how I am going to do this over the next few weeks.
Anyways, I officially started my Ragnar training on Monday.
I went out to my sisters house to use her treadmill.
I wasn't exactly sure how much of it would come back to me so I took it easy.
She loved it because she got to play with Lyle and didn't have to fight her kids to hold him. ;)
It took me an hour but I did 4 miles total.
I walked have, ran half, and continued that until 4 miles.
I also increased the incline up to 6 while walking and 2 while running.
It felt amazing!
I have missed running so much and am so glad that it is coming back easier than I thought it would.
I wasn't as sore as I thought I was going to be but enough that it took a little more power to get up.
Tuesday, the weather was gorgeous so when Dee got home from work, we took Lyle out and went on a walk.
We have a nice hill in our neighborhood so I know where I am going to be running when I start outside.
Today I decided to take it a little easy and I only chose two workouts that I found on pinterest.
The first one is Catwalk Pins

We all have that flab in between our legs that we would love to get rid of!
well...here is a really good solution to that!
Lie on your side and support your head with one arm.
Lift your top leg and place your foot on the chair.
Very slowly, lift the lower leg to touch the underside of the chair.
Hold for a few seconds, lower several inches then lift straight back.
Continue for 30 seconds then switch legs and repeat.
If you feel the burn you know you are doing them right.
Here is my attempt to take a picture of myself doing them:

If you feel that these are too easy for you, try lifting your body so that it is alined with your upper leg.
Support your body with your lower arm and lift the lower leg.
It should look like this:

The image above is also from the same website as the Catwalk Pins.
I tried doing these...I couldn't even lift my lower leg off the ground.
I have something to shoot for now! :)
These second workout I chose were pushups from Fitness Fury.
These are what they look like:

I got into the pushup position with my legs a little off from my body.
Then I took one leg and crossed it over so I could keep my balance.
I lost a lot of my upper strength and was only able to do 10 pushups on each side.
I am going to do 3 reps of 10 but do them throughout the day.
This will tone your arms along with your abs!
Two in one is my favorite way to go!

I would have done more but this little guy wanted my attention until he fell asleep

I am also going to go for a run tonight when Dee gets home from work.
I'll let you know how sore I am tomorrow from the Catwalk Pins and the funky pushups!
I challenge you to take 5 - 10 minutes out of your day to try these!
