My little sister has been on her LDS mission for two weeks now!
and I am definitely feeling the withdrawals.... ;)
I don't have my crazy sister that I can go shopping with and instead of buying clothes, we goof off, laugh and talk in crazy accents.
I think that's what we do most is laugh.
Saturday I hung out with April and she saw the crazy side of me.
It was pretty funny.
I think it might be that time that I share my craziness with them anyways. ;)
She sent us a letter and is having a blast!
She can't believe how green everything is!
And she hasn't felt the humidity yet...
She's been warned by so many members though.
Her and her companion, Sister Wagner have been sent to Nashua New Hampshire and they are the first two sister missionaries in the area!
This is what she said:
"We went to the early morning seminary class and being the first Sister missionaries in the area the young women would walk in, see us, drop their jaws on the floor and then run up to us and squual about their being sister missionaries now. then they would leave and come back with more young women who would do the same thing all over again! It was absolutely AWESOME!!!"
I don't think I know one person who doesn't love Tara and can see all the young women out there falling in love with her sweet, hopefully not so sassy, personality.
Maybe the sassy part is just with me...oh well. :)
She also had a crazy experience with Satan.
When I read this, my protective side started to come out.
And it started playing out in my head like a scary movie.
I've had my own experiences and can testify that Satan is real.
I hope you don't have to have these types of experiences but it happens.
"Ok scary experience.... Satan is totally real. I didn't know how real until the other night and after talking with Sister Wagner and almost crying, well I did cry, I am getting a blessing from the Elders. So I went to bed and was just laying there and then felt like someone was grabbing my arms and it was weird. I brushed it off as my muscles just being tired and turned onto my back and tried to fall asleep again. I then felt 'someon's' messaging my arms and then was grabbed/pushed down while I was just laying there. I remember yelling in my ind "Satan get out! Satan get away!" and then I was able to fall asleep. It was terrifying after I actually talked about it with Sister Wagner and I didn't want to sleep. She reminded me that I have the power to send him out by acting in Jesus Christs name and we had a really nice talk about it all in the car. So that night we prayed, I cried and before I went to sleep I commanded Satan in the name of Jesus Christ to GET OUT!!! I slept amazingly and am very grateful for prayer, Sister Wagner, Faith, Jesus Christ and the Priesthood. This gospel is amazing and I'm excited to continue the work!!!"
Doesn't that first part just send chills down your back???
They do mine!
Dee wasn't home when I read it and it didn't make me feel that comfortable in my house.
But once he walked through that door with the Priesthood, that feeling left.
I am so grateful for the Power of Priesthood.
It has helped me with so much throughout my life!
I am so proud of my sister that she has made this decision!
This is going to be a fun experience for both of us!
If you have questions about an LDS mission go here.
It an amazing decision that the youth make!
Have a good Tuesday!
