Tuesday I received a text from a friend asking me if I wanted to play soccer on a team that night.
HECK YES!!!!
How could I say no!?
I have been dying to play again and have been bugging Devin for the past 5 years that we should start a team. Or that I just wanted to play again.
I ran home after work and Devin was awesome and found my cleats and shin guards for me.
I changed into my running pants, some bright yellow shorts, a black shirt and black jacket.
The team is all black if you didn't get that from what I was wearing.
We made it to the field in time for me to sign the waiver and warm up just a little bit.
The wind was blowing like crazy!
There was a storm coming in and this wind was bringing everything including the dirt.
I plaid all first half and had some good touches to get my skills back.
2nd half started and my true skills were coming out.
I was feeling very good and happy with how I was playing.
I only knew 2 people of the team so of course I had to do good so they would ask me to come back.
And you don't want to look like a dork in front of anyone you don't know.
We made it through about half of the 2nd half.
The other team had the ball and was going back towards the goal.
I was playing defense and was running back towards the person with the ball.
I put my right leg forward and it happened...
It felt like the bottom half of my leg and my knee completely disconnected.
I landed on my right leg and instantly went down.
I was in so much pain that I had no idea what was coming out of my mouth.
No I wasn't swearing but I was letting out the funniest sound.
Ok, I was whining and grabbing the grass.
But now that I think back it was hilarious!
The team was all around me and had my flip over to sit on my bum.
(when I went down I was kneeling on my left knee too affraid to move)
They asked me if I could straighten my leg and move my toes.
I started laughing because it was so funny that the whole team was around me.
Devin and another awesome teammate (I think his name was Justin) helped me off the field.
I tried to walk on it but it hurt and didn't feel right.
They got me in a chair and 'Justin' took off my shoe and moved my foot certain ways.
Nothing was hurting it but he didn't think it was anything like my ACL or MCL.
He suggested that we get xrays to make sure nothing was broken.
We met my Mother-In-Law at the Instacare to take Lyle.
She was soo sweet and worried about me.
I was trying to laugh because the pain was so bad and I didn't want to cry.
I kept cracking jokes and so did Devin.
It helped but man on man! That pain in not fun!
I'd rather go through labor than have knee pain!
They took some xrays and none of the bones were broken than goodness.
But my knee was "too made at me" to tell anything else.
I was to go home and elevate it for 2 days (which I did the 2nd at work) and am on crutches for 2 weeks or until I feel comfortable to walk on it.
I really hate having a hurt knee.
All I want to do is run.
As we were sitting in the room waiting for the Dr. to come in I told Devin "All I want to do is get up and run away from this".
I seriously felt like I could and then my knee would shoot pain down my leg.
Good times...good times....
I am staying positive and telling myself that it's just a little tare and will heal on it's own and I will be able to run Ragnar in June.
I have a Dr.s appointment tomorrow with my actual Dr. and we will see what he says.
Fingers crossed!
On another note.
I received my It Works package with my defining gel and greens!
I did a wrap last night and these are my awesome results!
Tonight I am going to do a greens facial.
You mix the defining gel and the greens together and have an awesome healthy facial!
I'll let you know how that goes!
I have a "Girls Night(day) In" party on May 2nd and we are going to do the greens facial.
I will also have the other products to try but am so excited!
A girls night is just what the Dr. ordered! ;)
