Early Christmas Suprise

So now that things have calmed down and I can think straight, I'll tell you about my night on Wednesday....
I was working late with two loan officers getting things done and ready for the next day.
We all felt like our day was very successful.
We got a TON done!
I almost had nothing to do the next day we got so much done.
And I was the only processer here that day.
So I was doing double the work.
Anyways...6 o'clock rolled around and we decided that we had got plenty of work done and decided to leave.
On my drive home I was thinking about what we had to do that night.

- I had to take my ring in to get it checked for the warranty
- We had to run to Heslops to take them their birthday invite
- Start getting things ready for Lyle's birthday

I talked to Dee and was about 5 miles away from home.
I was jammin to Christmas music when Dee called....

Me: (jokingly) "you threw off my groove"
Dee: (with panic in his voice) "You need to get home. NOW!"

........

my heart really sunk because I thought something had happened to Lyle.

Dee: "we have 2 puppies!"

O.M.G.

I was in almost a panic because I had no idea what do to!
Any Mya was outside in the freezing cold with these two puppied.

Let me back up a little bit.
The last week of November, I noticed Mya's nipples were getting bigger.
But nothing like I've seen on other pregnant dogs.
And she started looking like she was eating to much food.
But nothing to say that she had something growing in her tummy.
We had an appointment for her on Monday (the 9th) to find out what was going on.

When Dee got home that day, Mya had pooped all over in our garage so he let her outside.
He was inside with Lyle when he heard something that sounded like a cat.
He thought that Mya had cought our neighbors cat, which wouldn't surprise me.
He went out and she was in the old dog house that was left from the previous owners with two puppies.
That's when he called me freaking out.
I got home, ran inside, said "Hi" to Dee and Lyle and ran outside to see my first baby.
She looked at me with panic in her eyes and I could tell what she was thinking
"I don't know what's going on and my babies are freezing"
I immediately ran inside and got towels and blankets to try to help but what we really needed to do was get her and the puppies inside the house.
I ran back inside to get a box and when I came out she had a third puppy.
I was able to get two of the puppies and then Mya was really freaking out because her 3rd puppy was whining and freezing.
She almost sat on it with it in-between her legs trying to get her warm.
I had Dee come out and call her to get her in the house.
Thank Heavens that worked.
I was able to grab the 3rd puppy and get all 4 of them inside the warm house.
We grabbed some old camping blankets and made Mya and the puppies and nice bed.
We got her calmed down and had Grandma Sharon come get Lyle so we could help Mya without worrying about Lyle.

After they left, Dee and I watched the most amazing thing ever.
We got to see the 4th puppy born.
And I totally wish that it was that easy for us to have babies!
I could see her tummy contracting.
She kinda layed back on her side
and out popped this puppy still in the sack.
She immediately bit the sack off and proceeded to eat it.
I looked at Dee amazed and also a little sick to my tummy.
She bit the umbelical cord off and ate that too.
After everything was eaten, she started licking the puppy clean.
It was the most amazing thing ever!
She knew exactly what to do.
I was so proud of her.

We made sure all of them latched on and then we finally breathed.
My heart calmed down and I could relax.
She had 1 boy and 3 girls.
Right now they are all Mya's color, a lighter brown with darker closer to the skin.

We still have to find out who the father was.
We have a few labs on our street and I'm hoping it was one of them.
But I have seen a HUGE malemute by our fence once during the summer.
I really don't care who the father is.
I'm glad that my baby is doing great and that each puppy is healthy and growing.
I love watching Mya be a mom to those puppies.
She always has to know where they are.

Pictures to come soon! :)

Also we just had Lyle's 1st birthday and it was a blast!
I'll get pictures up of that soon too!
