Cal-i-forn-I-A

So this past weekend Lindy and Matt were sealed for time and all eternity!
WOOHOO!
The whole fam, minus Dee, got to go out and see them sealed at the San Diego Temple.
Can I just say "WOW!"
As we were walking to the temple...ok, before I get into the temple stuff let me start at the beginning.
Lyle and I decided we were going to fly to Cali because 1 1/2 hours is a lot better than 12 with a baby...
I was having anxiety on the days leading up to it.
This was my 2nd time in the SLC airport and the 1st time flying by myself.
Let alone with a 2 month old...
There were a few days that I did let the tears go and Dee held me and told me that everything would be ok.
It took me 3 days to pack because I was so nervous.
First I got most of Lyle's stuff packed.
Except for the bibs and burp rags because I washed them the night before so I would have the majority of them.
On Thursday morning I got up at 5 and got myself ready.
I got Lyle fed around 6, and Dee's Mom and boyfriend came to take me to the airport.
The whole way they were telling me things to do when I got to the airport.
Sharon's boyfriend is a pilot and she has flown many times.
When we got there, Sharon came in with me to get my ticket printed at the kiosk.
Seriously, if I was to go in by myself I would have gone up to security without my ticket.
After I got my ticket we walked up to the line and Denise met us up there.
She has worked for Delta for 15 - 20 years and was working that morning.
She helped me get through security which was so nice because I needed the extra hands.
We walked up to the gate, Denise worked her magic and we sat down.
About 10 minutes later they told Denise that we could board.
I was the first one on the plane! I was flying buddy pass people! A buddy pass pretty much fills the empty seats after everyone else has boarded! I was in shock! And I had a window seat in the front with no one in the middle seat! It was so nice!

I was also nervous that Lyle would cry the whole time and I would sit next to someone who hates babies and would get mad at me. I sat next to the nicest guy ever! He sat and talked to me most of the way and when we landed, he helped me get my bags! He also walked me all the way to the baggage claim, sat me down so Lindy could find me, went and got his bags, came back and made sure that I was ok to get out to her car! WOW! I don't ever want to fly without Lyle! Lindy came and picked me up and we went to her work. She works on base with the ships!

And I didn't take a picture, I was fighting myself not to, but the grass is fake on base!! I seriously could not get over it! It's something that has to do with saving money or something. We hungout with her all day and finally as the day went on we went to dinner at Boomerang It's a really fun burger joint! It is also where she was having her luncheon after the sealing.

of course Lyle didn't want to take a picture with Lindy and yelled at her.
The rest of the fam got in that night and we went to say "hi" after dinner.
I was worried that Lyle would get up at 5 Cali time but he slept in until 6!
I fed him and then we woke up Lindy and started getting ready for the day.
Oh yeah!
We went to the Puma store, one of my FAVORITES, and they had some shirts ons aled 2 for 30 so we got matching shirts.

Here is Lyle and I ready for the day!
We were going to Seaworld.
It was my first time, and Lyle's, and I was soo excited!
I've always been interested in Marine Biology and now that I have been to Seaworld it really makes me want to go into it.
Maybe I will look into it and see what it takes and everything.
That morning one of the killer whales had her baby!
So after the Shamu show they opened the big pool and we waited to see if the mommy would bring out her baby!
She did and the baby was soo cute!
It was tiny compared to the other whales!
We loved all the shows!
The sea lion and sea otter show was hilarious!
and the Dolphins are amazing!
There was one time where a girl was riding a black whale, I think, and she fell off.
That whale swam back around and sat by her in the water.
She did not move and looked a little scared.
One of the other trainers was at the edge of the water hitting it so that it would go to her so the trainer in the water could get out.
That would terrify me!
But it was amazing to say the least!
At the dolphin show I also ran into Dee's cousins!
It was so much fun to see them and talk to them!

This was after I fed Lyle.
My Mom and I sat by the water and took deep breaths to calm down from our busy morning.

Tara and I rode the skyride together.

Waiting for the sea lion show.
It was so hot that he was just in a onsie!
Winter?
What's that?

This was the walrus.
She would swim upside down until she reached the window next to me and flip right in front of it.
It was so cool to see it so close!

The penguins were so cute and funny!
We were seeing which one was which penguin from happy feet.
These guys were the Elders/.

I told you we were wearing matching shirts! :)
After SeaWorld we went to dinner and then back to the condos.
The kids decided they wanted to go swimming and I went with them to feed Lyle.
I don't want to miss out on the fun!
We walked to wear the pool was and there was Dee's cousins again!
Small world!
They swam for about 5 minutes and were done!
It was an outdoor pool and at night, of course, it got cold and the pool wasn't really heated.
I was ok with that.
I went into my Mom and Dad's room to feed Lyle.
With everything being so loud and always on the go both Lyle and I were a little overwhelmed.
I was just finishing feeding him and started to burp him when April walked in.
She took one look at me and said, "Can I take Lyle?"
I just stared at her.
I must have had a pretty tired, sad, stressed face because she came and took him and I broke down.
I'm so grateful for my family!
Without Dee being there it was a little difficult.
My Mom, Mandee and then Amber came in and we just talked and laughed.
Just what I needed before bed.
April and I slept in the same room that had two twins and I think she was a little nervous sleeping with a baby.
And I don't think anyone believed me when I said that he sleeps until 6 or 7.
I got up, fed Lyle, then got myself ready for the temple.
Right before we left I pumped a bottle for Tara because she was watching Lyle.
Back to where we were at the beginning of this blog,
As we were walking up to the temple I was like a little girl on Christmas morning.
I was so excited and giddy!
April kept asking me if I was ready and I'd look at her with the biggest smile on my face and in my most happy voice say "yes!"
I kept looking at her with that same look throughout the whole temple.
That temple is amazing!
All of them are but this one has the spiral stairs that you walk up.
And in the celestial room it has two levels!
And they have an atrium above the celestial room!
It was gorgeous!
And I can't wait to go back and take Dee.
As we were walking in to the sealing room, which is also above the celestial room, they let us sisters sit behind the alter.
There were only 4 chairs and 5 of us were there....
I'm sure you can imagine what we did :)
Yes, we all crammed on those 4 chairs!
Finally someone got smart and said that we could move a chair over.
We are pretty hilarious!
I wish we could have taken a picture of all of us in white!
I've got some gorgeous sisters that I don't know what I'd do without them!
After the temple, we went to Boomerangs and had twice baked potatoes, sliders which are mini hamburgers, and some salads and stuff.
It was fun and delicious!
We went back, changed, and headed to my favorite!
MISSION BEACH!!
April and I both wanted to go up the shore more where they have the shops on the boardwalk but it was really busy so we went by the roller coaster.
But we still had fun!

If you want see more fun pics, go to Matt Denny's page on facebook.
We had a blast!!
When Saturday night came I was really ready to go home.
My meter on missing Dee exploded and I just wanted to be in his arms.
My flight left at 6:15 on Sunday morning so I was up at 4 getting myself ready and everything packed for April and Todd.
They were nice and took most of my bags so I didn't have to worry about them.
The flight back I sat in the front with a window seat with no one in the middle seat again!
It was just amazing!
Oh, Lyle slept the whole way on both flights!
Such a good baby boy!
I hugged Dee as long as I dared at the airport when I got off!
When I got home, I found this sitting on our table.

I looked at Dee and he had the biggest smile on his face!
He also wrote the cutest note telling me how much he loved me.
I have the best little family!
We had a blast at Cali but I don't think I'd go without Dee again!
(Watch me eat those words...)

Happy Wednesday!

unconditional love

Since being a Mom my emotions have changed.
When Little Man was sick, it broke my heart to listen to him try to breath.
I tried to stay strong but broke down the 2nd day and cried in Dee's arms.
Today my baby his 2 month shots...
he didn't cry long but it was hard.
and his skin started growing back over his little man parts and every time we change his diaper we need to pull the skin back do it will heal right.
I think every time he pee's it hurts him. :(
he was crying so hard and it broke my heart.
when I picked him back up street changing him he started to calm down in my arms.
before I knew it, the tears were streaming down my cheeks.
it's amazing the unconditional love you instantly have for your baby.
right now he's asleep on my chest and I don't want to move him.
I love him so much!
more then words can ever describe...

2 Months

My handsome baby boy is 2 Months and I can't believe it!
It goes by so fast!
He is always so happy!
He loves to talk and smile at us!
He has started to giggle and it is the cutest thing ever!
This morning while I was heating up a bottle I was lifting Lyle into the air and back down.
He had the biggest smiles on his face and started to giggle!
To bad Dee was still in bed and missed it.
He sleeps 9+ hours at night and is always so happy when he wakes up!
He is getting better and better at holding up his head.
And he never screams or cries when we have "tummy time"
It's amazing how much my heart has grown.
I love my boys so much!

Just an update on whats been going on this past month:
Lyle has battled RSV and got over it without going to the hospital to be put on oxygen.
It is hard to see your baby sick.
And to listen to him trying to breath with a stuffy nose and crap in your lungs...
I felt so bad for him but he was still my happy smiley boy.
He started with a little cough and I was going to schedule him an appointment for the next Monday, it was Saturday at the time, but when he woke up from his afternoon nap he coughed once and I knew we had to get him in that day.
I think because we caught it so early and started the breathing treatments is one of the reasons we didn't have to take him to the hospital.
The other is because he is so strong and fought it off himself. :)

Something that I had a hard time with was my milk supply.
After having a baby you are suppose to increase your calorie intake by 500.
It is so easy to fall back into your regular eating habits.
When we stayed with my parents I had no problem producing milk because I was always snacking on things.
Almonds, cuties, string cheese, apples...you get the idea.
When we moved into our house I didn't have half the things and wasn't hungry.
So I would eat how I ate before.
Before having Lyle this was my diet:
Breakfast: Oatmeal
Snack: fruit
Lunch: Yogurt and apples + peanut butter
Snack: fruit or yogurt and a sandwich
Dinner: whatever we ate

It was so easy to fall back into that.
If I wasn't hungry I wouldn't eat which resulted in my milk supply running low...
It's very frustrating when you aren't producing food for your baby.
I was still drinking 96 - 128 oz of water....
I called my sister and was talking to her.
She said to make sure that I am getting enough fruit, veggies and protein.
I started eating more food and duh...my milk supply increased!
This is my diet now:
Breakfast: Raisin Bran with granola
Snack: Fruit
Lunch: PB&J or Tuna Fish Sandwich
Snack: Multigrain bread with Nutella or fruit
Dinner: Something delicious!
and sometimes I'll have a snack before going to bed.
I feel like all I do is eat and eat.
But I'm producing milk for my sweet boy so I'll do it.
There are some people that I follow on instagram that have asked questions about increasing your milk supply and I've been reading the comments.
That's actually the first thing that I went to before I called my sister.
I was curious to see what everyone said.
I hope that those people got their stuff figured out.
I'm sure it's different for everyone. maybe not...who knows unless we talk right?

How did I know that my milk supply was low you ask?
Lyle was sucking and sucking and sucking and I didn't hear any swallowing...
Not the things I wanted to hear.
Also, I feel Lyle a bottle for his first feeding and then pump.
I'll put 5 - 6 oz in a bottle for the next mornings feeding and freeze the other 5 - 6 oz.
I was only pumping 4 oz...
Now I make sure I always have some type of snack with me.
And my amazing hospital mug is always full of water.

It still hasn't fully hit me that this is my baby.
Everytime one of my older sisters holds Lyle I think, this is my baby, not theirs, mine....
Holy Smokes!
Dee and I really got lucky with how happy and seet Lyle is.
He's so much fun to watch everyday.
To see him discover new things and become more interactive.
Here's so pics of him this past month :)

 Have a Great Week! :)

We get to go on our first trip this week!
Lindy and Matt are being sealed in the San Diego Temple and Lyle and I are flying out there on Thursday night! :)
I wish that Dee was able to come with us but one of us has to bring in the mulah.
I'll let you know all about it when we get back.
