Lovelock

Lovelock...?

What is that...?
Is it some kind of locket...?

Lovelock is actually a town of about 1700 people in Nevada.

The speed limit through the town is 15 mph.
If you go any faster you will completely miss the town.
And there is a section called Wagner Way.
I don't know if it is really called Wagner Way but here is why we call it Wagner Way:
1. My Uncle Richard is the Judge so he is well known.
People go to him for anything and everything.
2. 4 out of 6 of their kids live within walking distance.

The Yellow Square is my Aunt and Uncles house.
The Red ones...those are my cousins...
It was fun for me to have them so close.
I got to see 2 of the 4 on Friday.

Oh yeah...why I went to the middle of no-where NV.
My Grandma and Grandpa have been gone for I think two month.
First they were up in Idaho for a month with my Aunt Denis.
Second they were in NV with my Aunt Carleen.
I drove the 7 hours with my mom on Friday to pick them up.
It was a ton of fun driving with my mom.

This was after a yummy lunch in Elko NV and she was putting on her socks.
(yes that is her foot)

We arrived in Lovelock around 6
visited with Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Carleen, Uncle Richard, Jennifer, Craig, Marcus, and Crissy.
It was fun just to see everyone!
It's not an everyday trip to Lovelock.

On the way home I got this picture:

I LOVE tunnels!
when I was little and we would go to NV,
when going through a tunnel we ALWAYS honk the horn and yell out the window.
I have no idea who started it or where it came from but we didn't forget :)
My mom honked the horn and we both laughed(i tried to yell) as we went through.
Sometimes I miss being a kid.

It was so much fun to be with my mom.
It's not everyday we get the quality time of just her and I either.
I love my mommy.

13.1 Miles

                   Ready...

Get Set....

                                                                                                                   GOOO
Choosing the Perfect Race Outfit
The night before the race, open up dresser that holds all your running clothes
Look through your running clothes and pull out the following:
One pair of shorts with a blue stripe on the side
One pair of blue socks
One black sports bra
One dark blue shirt
Carefully place these on the bed or the floor in the correct body position
Step back and observe
Picture self running amongst the sea of runners
Place pair of shorts back into dresser
Exchange for pair of black Capri tights
Gaze at blue shirt with puzzled look
Toss blue shirt on floor
Fling black sports bra on top of blue shirt
Choose cute, happy pink tank with built in bra
Picture self standing at start line shivering, hugging self for warmth
Locate old ratty sweatshirt that can be discarded
Glance frantically around for shoes
Snatch shoes from bottom of closet
Gently place shoes next to outfit
Pick up left shoe
Attach timing chip to shoe laces taking care to go through the right number of laces
Shake shoe to try and determine the bounce factor of the timing chip
Set shoes by socks at bottom of Capri’s
Gasp in horror at the blue socks not matching the pink tank top
Frantically search for pair of pink socks haphazardly throwing non pink socks aside
Locate the socks that match the shade of the pink top
Discard blue socks off to the side on the heap of other socks
Pin race number to front of pink top taking care to use the correct holes in the bib
Hold pink top with race number at arms length and ensure it's straight
Gaze off into the distance
Run into the bathroom
Pull open the drawer containing the selection of hair bands
Pull out a hair band and two Bondi Bands
Carry bands back into room with outfit
Set each one down next to outfit and look at color scheme
Choose the one with the same shade of pink
Look at watch
Wonder how you’ll ever sleep
Step back and look at ensemble
Smile happily at the cute, pink, perfect race outfit

If you haven't figured it out yet, I am running the Layton 1/2 Marthon with Dee Dee.
Both of us are soo excited and can't wait for October to get here.
It starts in the middle of the Coseway and ends up at Ellison Park.

13.1 miles....wow....That is a distance.
The last 6 miles are a gradual hill.
Why couldn't it be the first 6 miles??
That would be so much easier...
Oh well... 13.1 miles wasn't meant to be easy.
Only worth it with my sister.

Swift Moving Water & Hot Pots

Last weekend we went to Lava Hot Springs. If you haven't been there I suggest you find some time to make a trip up to Idaho. My family was there from Thursday to Saturday but of course Dee and I have work and couldn't go up until Friday. It was still a blast! Friday night we talked around the camp fire. I love sitting and talking with my sisters. It is one of the best things in life...next to the hubby. Saturday DeeDee, T and I ran 6 miles. Who runs 6 miles while on vaca...? Only the weird Hoellein sisters. It was a gorgeous morning and I couldn't wait to get back because our friends Chase and Emmie were coming up for the day to play with us. My family absolutely LOVED them. We cleaned up camp and headed down to the park to park our cars and start playing in the river. Because of all the rain, I'm sure you could figure this out, the river was high and fast. But soo much fun! Did I mention it was freezing? The walk back to the top of the river was always nice because it warmed up our bodies before we got into the fast freezing water again. There were no accidents and no one tipped over this year. whew. I am actually pretty terrified of the river. You will always know where I am at... just following the screaming. hehe :) We ran the river 3 or 4 times before going over to one of the hot pots along the river. The water was soo warm and amazing. We sat there for about two hours and in that time we met a group of boys from Tooele. One of the guys had dreadlocks and DeeDee had to go talk to him to ask how he did it. I think he told the story 2 or 3 times. It was so much fun being up there with my family and we were glad to have Chase and Emmie up there with us. Day trip to Lava in the making...

My computer still isn't working, I'm doing this at work, but here are some pictures of Lava so you get an idea of how amazing this place is.

Yes those slides do start above and on the other side of the road...

So I have a lot to catch up on.... We've been busy with family and friends and it has been soo much fun! The 24th and 25th of June, we went to Payson Lake with my family. It was soo much fun as it always is with my family. Of course I didn't catch anything...I swear the fish know which poll is mine and avoid it...but it was still a blast! We sung campfire songs while my mom played her ukulele, ran around with adorable kids, goofed off with sisters and brothers-in-law...I really do love my family. Oh yeah, and two adults, April and I, in a little blow up boat that the max weight limit is 190.... with both of us in there it didn't sink! woohoo! But the waves did come in a little. That was FREEZING! We had tonz of laughs like we always do!

Kiss Me Dirty - Who doesn't love getting dirty? as in muddy...? :) I went to the Dirty Girl Run with Mandee, April, and Mandee's friend Tanill. It was a blast!! It's a four mile race(one lap is two miles) going through obstacles and mud! it was a BLAST! There were hay bails, tires, walls to climb over, ropes to do the army crawl under, and a river to run up..yes I did say up. It was so cold! but it did feel good because it was soo hot and humid. The very end there was a tarp FULL of bubbles! It was one of the best things I have done with two of my sisters. (Pictures coming soon)

My nephew, Carter, was baptized on Saturday(7/2)! He is soo funny and makes the funniest comments. He wanted to stay in the water while it drained because it was warm. haha! Tara and I sang and of course, I was nervous. It's usually not as bad as it was, but my knees were shaking soo bad! note to self....next time, wear flats! The song sounded really good until the very end. I mean the very last note. Right before I sang that last note I looked up(like usual) and I looked at my brother-in-law, not a good idea. He mouthed 'calm down'. I smiled and ran out of breath so I couldn't hold out the last note. Oh geez...at dinner my family kept commenting on it. It was pretty funny. :) Tara and I had a lot of laughs sitting in the back together as Amber gave the final talk.

Sunday night...was sooo hot...the hubby and I had the house all to ourselves all weekend and at midnight(Monday morning), we decided to go for a swim. Chase and Emily(our best friends) came over and swam with us. It was so much fun! After we swam we had a fire and talked and laughed. We have so much fun with these two! Oh and I can't forget Haz! Mya and Haz played all night! Chase and Emily left around 3:00 and Mya fell asleep instantly. On the 4th, we had to wake her up to take her outside and again she crashed out there. She usually is up and running around us while we are getting ready in the morning. It was kinda nice. :)

The Fourth was soo much fun! If you didn't have fun in the heat/humidity then you were missing out! We went to the Riverdale parade with my family. I think the adults have more fun than the kids. :) We are ALWAYS standing on the street with the little kids grabbing candy. "Only on the fourth do we tell our kids to pick up candy off the road and eat it" I love April! But it is true...any other time of the year it would be nasty. After the parade we decided to stop by Chase and Emily's house to see how things were going since we were up there for the parade, they live in Ogden. We ended up staying in Ogden ALL day! I am totally not complaining! :) These guys are awesome! They were going to a Demolition Derby that night and previously asked us to go but we were unable too. Well....as we were at their house, sneaky Emily and Chase bought us tickets to go...I love these two! The Demo Derby was AWESOME! Cars were catching fire, flinging mud everywhere, tipping over the barrier walls, oh and they had trucks in this one! They were awesome to watch because they have more power and can still drive if one of their tires falls off! Two of the trucks were flipped over onto their sides. Thankfully no one was hurt and they kept going once they were upright. After the Derby they had fireworks of course! It was fun to be with friends and the hubby watching the huge fireworks above. I love the ones with the huge BANG! I felt like a little kid again. :)

When we got home of course I had to go to bed because I have to be up for work at 5:30. Going to bed around 11 on the 4th is one of the hardest things ever. Especially since your brother-in-law loves the big fireworks... I swear those things were going off right in front of my window. I would be cuddled up in my soft blanket, sleep falling upon me, dreams starting to come when BANG.... right outside my window...they scared the crap outta me! Somehow I was able to let the sleep completely consume me between the fireworks going off and the last thing I woke up to was the hubby kissing me 'goodnight'. It has been such a fun summer so far. And I know it will continue to be a blast because of everything that is planned. Lava Hot Springs, Camping, Bear Lake..... :) I don't want the summer to end.

(Pictures will come soon. Once my computer starts working again..)
